FIRST MENTOR VISIT (2/14/2022)

This week in the Independent Study and Mentorship course, I am looking forward to my first mentor visit with PA-C Beth Palazzetti at Southlake Dermatology. As of right now, the plan is to shadow her in the office and be present when she is doing consultations/treating patients. I am so thankful that I was afforded this opportunity and am excited to gain more insight about Dermatology. However, I will admit that I am very nervous because it is all so surreal. I have honestly worked really hard to get where I am and am proud that the results are finally showing. Moreover, I am excited for my next mentor visit which will be next Thursday. Mrs. Palazzetti is allowing me to watch surgeries and make observations/notes. I plan on asking her a lot of questions about what all of the diagnoses mean and how she went about treating them. Other than the visits, I will also be working on my display board for the research showcase. This has been a little difficult to do since I am not the most artistic person and it really does take a lot of time to complete. Once this is done, I will be ahead of my ISM schedule.
