This week, I am planning to focus on completing more in-person and virtual interviews with dermatology professionals, preferably a physician's assistant. Unfortunately, it is a bit difficult to find a mentor during COVID-19. This is mainly an issue due to staffing and the general safety of patients. However, I am hopeful that I will be able to resolve this issue by selecting my mentor in the near future and start the process for my Final Work. For that assignment, I will take some information from my Original Work and expand it into a proposal for companies that primarily sell dermatological products. My Original Work focused on the general concept of racial inequities in Dermatology from several different standpoints, these include educational tools, products, and the lack of people of color in the field. I found this idea important to address as healthcare is constantly changing and developing. With my research, I am hoping that these issues will cease to exist. To accomplish this, my argument has to be very strong and backed with efficient evidence. I have already conducted a base for my Final Project, though I will need to focus more on more product based examples such as sunscreen.
